NJ – NCPEA is the preeminent organization of professors dedicated to the effective preparation and renewal of educational leaders in the State of New Jersey.

Dedicated to the quality of pre-service preparation in our state, New Jersey professors of education administration joined efforts to affiliate with the national organization in order to bring the benefits and resources of NCPEA to colleagues with shared interests and commitment.

  • Ensure the high quality professional development of professors of educational administration.
  • Refine the knowledge base for preparing practicing administrators and professors of educational administration.
  • Promote the application of theory and research in the field to the practice of educational administration.
  • Ensure the access and inclusion of underrepresented groups into the professorship and administration
  • Serve as an advocate for professors of educational administration and as an authority on critical issues in the field.
  • Contribute to the establishment of standards by which educational administration programs become certified and approved.

As a state affiliate of NCPEA, NJ-NCPEA is a separate organization that works collaboratively as part of the national organization to foster the common values and goals of NCPEA. The primary purposes of such collaboration include:

  • To positively impact national school leadership policy and practice through the collective influence of approximately 360 university preparation programs and over 3,300 professors of educational administration
  • To network, share ideas and provide professional development opportunities at two annual NCPEA conferences; and
  • To keep professors and practitioners informed of national issues related to the work of the National Policy Board for Educational Administration (NPBEA), and the Educational Leadership Constituent Council (ELCC).

In addition to opportunities for national leadership, members of NJ-NCPEA influence education policy and provide a forum for the improvement of the practice and study of education administration in New Jersey.  Activities of NJ-NCPEA include, but are not limited to:

  • Promoting high professional standards,
